Training School on Raman Spectroscopy

The Training School on Raman Spectroscopy took place at Ruder BoŇ°kovic Institute in Zagreb, Croatia, on September 23-25, 2015

It was organized by Mile Ivanda (ivanda-at-irb.hr).

Selected topics:

  • Historical introduction of the Raman spectroscopy
  • Theory of Raman spectroscopy on molecules and crystals
  • Surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy and applications
  • Raman spectroscopy of nanoparticles
  • Raman scattering on disordered materials
  • Raman spectroscopy in materials research
  • Time-resolved techniques with ultrashort pulses in examination of specific vibrational states of matter
  • Application of ESR spectroscopy in probing of vibrational states of disordered materials
  • Practical laboratory courses on Raman spectroscopy

Guest speaker: Prof. Philippe Colomban, UPMC Paris: "Raman Spectroscopy of advanced materials (fibre, composites, films, ..) for aerospace and energy application"

The program can be found here

The Training School aims particularly at Early-Stage Researchers.

The number of participants is limited to allow for hands-on training.

Participation is free of charge. Partial travel grants for the participants will be available according to COST Action rules.
